Winter Escape

Cape Town 2025

Every winter the Spacex crew escapes the cold and heads to Cape Town — our home away from home. It’s where we train, push our limits and prepare for the biggest events of the season.

Cape Town is also where we compete at King of the Air, but just as important, it’s where we focus on bringing the kitesurf community together. Riding, creating, sharing sessions and turning windy days into moments we won’t forget.

Finding cold weather

Snowkiting

This winter we tried snowkiting in Serre Chevalier for the very first time. A completely new environment for the Spacex crew, but with the same mindset: explore, adapt and push boundaries. Riding on snow added a whole new dimension to kiting, and it didn’t take long before we were fully hooked.

France

Lord of Tram 2025

Stino kicked off the season with a strong performance during one of the windiest editions of Lord of Tram ever. With extreme conditions forcing the organizers to stop the event multiple times, he battled his way through to the finals, securing a strong fourth-place finish.

Heading South

Full Power Tarifa

Part of our yearly ritual is Tarifa — the kitemecca of Europe. It’s the perfect place for training, with consistent wind and endless sessions. Most of our friends end up there too, which makes every trip feel like a reunion. Long days on the water, even longer nights — Tarifa always delivers, both on and off the beach.

Throwing the parties

A night in Tarifa

Bringing the kitesurf community together is what drives us. With Big C and DJ Rinna behind the decks, every night turns into something unforgettable. For the past few years, we’ve taken over Beachclub Waves and turned it upside down, riders, friends and crews all in one place. The space theme never disappoints 🚀

Missing KOTA by 1 spot

King of the Air qualifier Tarifa

The first Red Bull King of the Air qualifier went down in Tarifa, and Stino arrived just in time — flying in last minute from the Netherlands. Despite the rushed arrival, he’d already put in serious training over the past month in Tarifa, and it showed.

Round after round, Stino fought his way through the competition, earning his spot in the final alongside Lorenzo Casati and Cohan van Dijk. The final turned into a nail-biting battle, especially between Stino and Cohan. In the end, Big C edged him out by the smallest of margins — just one inch separating Stino from the coveted King of the Air golden ticket.

Take over of The Hangout

We threw an epic party at The Hangout in Wijk aan Zee together with Ruben Lenten, Cohan van Dijk, and Labworks! Friends, riders, and the whole kitesurf crew came together for an unforgettable night. Music, good vibes, and the energy of the beach made it a night to remember — the Hangout was officially taken over by Spacex.

The Megaloop Challenge

The Megaloop Challenge returned this year and for the first time, it landed in Noordwijk! Stino battled through the heats and made it all the way to the semi-finals, showing off some serious skills in front of an excited crowd.

Denmark

Cold Hawaii Games

The Cold Hawaii Games 2025 brought together some of the best kitesurfers in the world, and Stino delivered an impressive performance, claiming a well-deserved 3rd place. Strong winds, tough competition, and incredible waves made it an unforgettable event for everyone involved.

All the boys in Cape Town

The Spacex Boat Race

This summer our whole crew is based in Cape Town — the second home of most of the Spacex boys. When we’re together, everything turns into a competition.

Last week we took that mindset to the water with the very first Spacex Boat Race, racing the Explorer 200s against each other. With 25–30 knots of wind, conditions were anything but easy, but the boats completely exceeded our expectations. Fast, stable and built to perform — we couldn’t believe how well they handled the conditions.

All the boys to Denmark

Storm Chase Denmark

Over the past few months, we have been monitoring all kinds of strong wind spots in Europe. We had a group trip in mind to do a SpaceX Kitesurfing shoot for our new custom-printed harnesses, made by Prolimit, and our Team board, Lieuwe FalconX. As soon as we saw this forecast on the weather apps, we knew this wasn’t just another blow-through. Charts glowing purple and red, and a deep North Sea pushing waves over 4 meters towards the Danish coast.
